Just before Christmas, KCR broadcast Kalamunda's 2001 Carols by Candlelight live from Stirk Park. This transmission reached hundreds of individuals in their homes and in nursing homes and hospitals. It was a significant event in the history of our station, important because it proved our maturity as a community broadcaster and our commitment to servicing the needs of the community.

Volunteer commentators Norman Campbell and Kevin Burns (pictured above left) worked tirelessly from inside our tiny non-airconditioned OB van to relay details of the event to our listeners throughout the evening. Other volunteers, such as Mary Gibbs and Celia Whalley (pictured above right with Norman and Kevin) helped out by manning the KCR information desk.

The OB was a huge success, and our thanks go to everyone involved.
